Climate Cuba

In Cuba, the temperatures are generally high. The annual average ranges Climate Cubafrom 24 degrees Celsius in the plains up to 26 degrees Celsius on the eastern side.  There are reported magnitudes below 20°C in the highest parts of the Sierra Maestra.

The season from November to April is less hot and is known as “winter”, while the months from May to October are warmer, and are “summer.” The absolute maximum and minimum temperatures recorded were 38.6 degrees Celsius (Guantanamo, August 7, 1969) and 0.6 degrees Celsius (Bainoa, February 18, 1996). As is typical in tropical climates, the daily variation in temperature is greater than the annual.
The average relative humidity is high, averaging close to 90 percent. The maximum daily, usually above 95 percent, occurs at sunrise, while the minimum falls at midday, up 50-60 percent in the territory. The wettest areas are the western and central regions.  The effect of high relative humidity gives the Cuban archipelago, a sensation of intense heat most of the year.
